Set up like a Parisian salon, Alex Jowett’s personal living space doubles as a gallery full of classic and eclectic furniture, plus art and accessories by local artisans Mike Greenwood and Zac Ridgely.
(Jowett’s own Manila rope light fixtures and pettable reindeer lamps alone are well worth the trip.) Canoe paddles painted in bold semaphore patterns can also be found in Atelier 688, and fans of the three-metre-wide ’40s kayak chandelier that hung from the store’s ceiling can now work with Jowett to get a custom version.
