Holt Renfrew Nods to its Haute Heritage

A Buckminster Fuller-inspired sculpture dresses up the retailer’s newest outpost

The interior of Square One’s newest anchor, Holt Renfrew, includes nods to both timeless style and today’s top trends – not that we’d expect anything less from the seasoned vet of Canada’s luxury department-store scene. Take, for instance, the ceiling sculpture by Commute Design that hangs in the two-storey atrium. Made of laser-cut brass sheets, the 4.57 metre-wide fixture renders a classic architectural form – the geodesic dome – in fashionable brass.
